Conferences, FA Societies List and On-line Publications

ANADEF, ANAlyses de DEFaillances, is a French association that regroups the most important laboratories working in the field of electronic equipments and components.  It gathers 30 French manufacturers, company and university laboratories involved in this field. It organizes workgroups and workshop every two years.

Association Connecting Electronics Industries, (IPC). In 1999, IPC changed its name from Institute of Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits to IPC. It is a trade association dedicated to furthering the competitive excellence and financial success of its members worldwide, who are participants in the electronic interconnect industry.

ASM International, Materials Information Society, is the society for materials engineers and scientists, a worldwide network dedicated to advancing industry, technology and applications of metals and materials.

EDFAS, The Electronic Device Failure Analysis Society (EDFAS) fosters education and communication in the failure analysis community. EDFAS is an affiliate society of ASM (American Society of Materials). EDFAS has an email discussion group, edit a society's magazine, Electronic Device Failure (EDFA), and organize an excellent annual flagship event: the International Symposium for Testing and Failure Analysis (ISTFA).

ESREF, This conference's topic contains failure analysis and reliability.

EFUG, The European Focused Ion Beam Users Group (EFUG) aims to stimulate the interaction and collaboration between Focused Ion Beam users by the exchange of information, the organization of meetings and the organization of FIB tutorials. The EFUG includes ~ 200 members of industrial users, universities, various independent institutes and manufacturers. It organizes a yearly EFUG meeting prior to ESREF conference.

Electronic Engineering Times, serves the electronic engineering community throughout Asia and China with the latest industry and technology trends ­and explains those trends ­at a time and in a format that's appropriate for this community's current design needs.

ITRS, The International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) is an assessment of the semiconductor technology requirements. The objective of the ITRS is to ensure advancements in the performance of integrated circuits. This assessment, called roadmapping, is a cooperative effort of the global industry manufacturers and suppliers, government organizations, consortia, and universities.

ITC, International Test Conference is the world's premier conference dedicated to the electronic test of devices, boards and systems-covering the complete cycle from design verification, test, diagnosis, failure analysis and back to process and design improvement.

ISTFA, International Symposium for Testing and Failure Analysis. This is the only conference dedicated to failure analysis.

IPFA, International Symposium on the Physical and Failure Analysis of Integrated Circuits. This conference's topic contains failure analysis and reliability.

IRPS, International Reliability Physics Symposium. This conference's topic contains failure analysis and reliability.

IMAPS, International Microelectronics And Packaging Society (IMAPS). Cutting edge and long-term research and development is presented in venues from the informal and focused Advanced Technology Workshops to the more formal International Symposia.

IEEE Computer Society. The Computer Society's vision is to be the leading provider of technical information and services to the world's computing professionals.

JEDEC is the leading developer of standards for the solid-state industry. Almost 2400 participants, appointed by some 270 companies work together in 50 JEDEC committees meet the needs of every segment of the industry, manufacturers and consumers alike. The publications and standards that they generate are accepted throughout the world. All JEDEC standards are available online, at no charge.

Microscopy Meeting, from Petr’s Microscopy Resources. It is the links for many meetings, in the years 2006 – 1996, in the field of microscopy.

Microscopy Societies, from Petr’s Microscopy Resources. The content includes: IFSEM(International Federation of Societies for Electron Microscopy) & EMS (European Microscopy Society), and Multinational, National, National & Regional Societies (aimed at Europe).

MRS, Materials Research Society. The Materials Research Society is a not-for-profit organization which brings together scientists, engineers and research managers from industry, government, academia and research laboratories to share findings in the research and development of new materials of technological importance.

MSA,Microscopy Society of America, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the knowledge of the science and practice of all microscopical imaging, analysis and diffraction techniques useful for elucidating the ultrastructure and function of materials in diverse areas of biological, materials, medical and physical sciences.

NMRC, ireland, is now part of the Tyndall National Institute, which initially comprises NMRC and the photonics communities within UCC and CIT.

SPIE, International Society of Optical Engineering, is a not-for- profit society that has become the largest international force for the exchange, collection and dissemination of knowledge in optics, photonics and imaging.

SEMATECH, is the world's catalyst for accelerating the commercialization of technology innovations into manufacturing solutions. They deliver significant return on investment to their semiconductor and emerging technology partners.

SIMS Webserver, The SIMS Website was designed to serve as an international, interactive information resource for practitioners of the Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS). The server is sponsored by the Annual Workshop on SIMS. In the spirit of the Annual SIMS workshop, the hope is that this site will be used for the exchange of practical information about SIMS. 

Semiconductor International, is the leading technical publication covering the global semiconductor industry.

Semiconductor Industry Association, SIA is part of the High Tech Broadband Coalition (HTBC).

Semiconductor Online, is the premier sourcing site for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. Their sources include factory automation technology, the latest advances in LED and IRED development and manufacture, the information to identify and select suppliers, etc.

Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International, SEMI, is a handful of visionary leaders created a forum for equipment and materials suppliers.

Test Technology Technical Council, The Technical Activities Group of TTTC is actively involved in: identifying key topic areas in test technology; initiating corresponding Technical Activity Committees (TACs) to coordinate interactions between experts of each topic area; and monitoring the outcome of these technical activities. IDDQ Testing is one of the actives of  TTTC.

The Royal Microscopical Society (RMS), has a long and distinguished history, yet has always been at the forefront of new ideas and developments in microscopy. The RMS serves the needs of its members in the academic and industrial worlds. It promotes both theory and practical application, shaping the future of microscopy. They propose a wide range of events also.

TMS,Minerals, Metals & Materials Society.

Test & Measurement World, covers the global electronics testing industry, providing how-to information to 65,000 engineers who test, measure, and inspect electronic devices, components, and systems. Test & Measurement World is published 11 times per year by Reed Business Information and has an extensive online community.

VTE ITG Sub-Group 8.5, ITG ("Informationstechnische Gesellschaft“) is aSub-Group 8.5 of  VDE (“Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker e.V.”), the Germa Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies. ITG supports and encourages research and using of IT as well as its application in data and communication techniques and systems, protection of the environment, medicine, traffic. The 8.5 group deals with Quality and Reliability for IC´s. It has 4 workgroups: Contactless Testing, FA Strategies, Quality Maintenance for VLSI and Wafer Level and simulation Reliability.The most important event of the 8.5 Group is the yearly workshop “Failure Mechanism and Analysis for small geometries”. All the activities are in German.
